The Special Education Team at Eugene Field International Baccalaureate Elementary School consists of Resource Teachers, a Speech-Language Pathologist, a School Psychologist and an Occupational Therapist. These team members serve children's individual needs as well as supporting the IB program. The team also consists of paraprofessionals who assist the certified teacher with the students' direct instruction.
Special Education provides as needed:
- Instruction in reading, writing and math
- Speech and language therapy
- Behavioral guidance for children with disabilities
- Organization and study skills assistance
- Evaluations of students referred
- Support to parents of students with special needs.
- Crisis intervention as needed
- Motor needs support for those who qualify
